Après neuf ans d'absence entrecoupées seulement par deux épisodes des Masters of Horror, et un nombre incalculable de projets plus ou moins abandonnés (Escape From Earth, L.A Gothic, The 13th Apostle, Riot avec Cage), Big John est enfin de retour avec The Ward. L'avant première a eu lieu le 13 à Toronto, et les retours sont plutôt bons. Suivra à priori Fangland avec Hillary Swank .

Le pitch :
The story follows a girl (Heard) who is admitted to a psychiatric ward, meets other girls there with distinct personalities and discovers a mysterious girl haunting the halls at night.

Official: In John Carpenter's THE WARD, Kristen, a beautiful but troubled young woman, finds herself bruised, cut, drugged, and held against her will in a remote ward of a Psychiatric Hospital. She is completely disoriented, with no idea why she was brought to this place and no memory of her life before being admitted. All she knows is that she isn't safe. The other patients in the ward, four equally disturbed young women, offer no answers, and Kristen quickly realizes things are not as they seem. The air is heavy with secrets, and at night, when the hospital is dark and foreboding, she hears strange and frightening sounds. It appears they are not alone. One-by-one the other girls begin to disappear and Kristen must find a way out of this hellish place before she, too, becomes a victim. As she struggles to escape, she will uncover a truth far more dangerous and horrifying than anyone could have imagined.

Assez engageant donc, et de toute façon après neuf ans d'attente je prends quoi qu'il en soit. Pour reprendre l'Incal, "au bout de 5 200 000 kiloéthers je sodomiserais un boa". Amis de la poésie, bonsoir .

Encore du nouveau après The Ward, un projet de plus pour Big John, et cette fois on a une affiche (moche) :



...Darkchylde, adapté du comics de Randy Queen, dont l'héroïne est une jeune fille condamnée à prendre l'apparence des créatures qui hantent ses cauchemars. Le film bénéficiera des effets spéciaux de Weta Workshop et John Carpenter semble très motivé au point de dire qu'Ariel Chylde est son personnage féminin préféré depuis Laurie Strode. Plus de doute: après Amber Heard dans The Ward, le réalisateur se la joue de plus en plus girlie !

Je m'attends pas à un miracle, mais c'est John Carpenter, donc on y croit.
